Yeah, CopterControl is working (I have two of those boards here for development)
I did some flight on fixed wing, and I had it control a VTAIL without ailerons:

I had it run some experimental code where I tried to get a crude self navigation working, using an additional GPS board:

We also have people letting it fly quads, and even helicopters now :)
