Why you want join us ?
I started aerial robotics as a hobby in 2005; although, I worked on UAV technology from 1987 to 1992 as military contractor in guidance and control research & development. Now it is just a hobby that I enjoy. Have admired Jani for a long time, and also Marco's work on DIY Drone community for years. I know marco has been the poster child for this group, with many more behind the scenes developing. I want to purchase VRBrain Autopilot to try on on of my Quads & maybe on jDrones Hexa, (I already have APM 1 & 2.5, Openpilot CC3d, AscendingTechnology Hummingbird, DJI Naza). The VRBrain Autopilot appears to be more stable and has greater expansion capability. I would like to play with it. It is not just for selfish pleasure, since I have helped some graduate students (in France, Germany & Switzerland) over the years with translating their aerial robotic dissertations (starting in 2005) from French & German to English to make sure their grammer was correct and to correct some math errors. Maybe your group would be interested in some assistance as well (the English grammer on your web site is not good and although it can be understood, really should reflect the excellence of your technical effort by being better). I have not done a lot of programming in about 20 years, so I am re-learning C programming, but have strong theoretical background in numerical analyses, control theory (non-linear), structural design and guidance & control development. Maybe that can help your group, but maybe only from a proofing aspect, error checking, etc. I also have a very extensive collection of literature on aerial robotics associated with quads and other multi rotor aerial robots. So, if someone in your group wants some journal papers or dissertations on some aspect of the technology, chances are I can save them a lot of time looking and perhaps provide copies (mostly in English) of the better references to help point the way.
What kind of drone do you prefer ?
