I´m 41 years old, from Norway. I work with IT (since 1999) it in a bank (have the responsibility for the computers, servers, network..) Before that I worked with electronics like TV, phone systems, computers..
I have created some windows applications for use in the bank+ some web sites. I have done the programming in .net ( vb and some c#) using Microsoft Visual Studio.
I started with RC 1,5 - 2 years ago, purchasing 2 used T-rex 450 - my goal was to use them for filming, photo. After some time I found that that was the wrong way to go and sold them.
Then I started my first quad project using an OpenPiolot controller. It took some time since nobody else around where I live have any experience. Spent a lot of time surfing the net and order parts from hobby king, spark fun, open pilot..
Have done some flying/learning this summer, but 3 days ago I was out late in the dark doing some test flights when a strong wind took the quad high in the air and away from me. I spent too much time trying to get back control/orientation before I disarmed. I have spent some time the last days trying to find it, but I have concluded that my dear quad ended its life in the sea :-(.
It is very difficult to get a new open pilot controller so I started looking for an alternative and ended here. I´m going to buy a controller and start a new quad project (this time I want return to home functions :-) )
Since I have the responsibility for the phones in the bank, I have iPhone, Android, Windows Phone 7 + an Android IOIO board.. if there is any plans for ground station software on a cellular?? I can help testing..
I plan to spend some time this winter learning programming STM32 and hope I can contribute to this project.
