What I ment was, if there are other telemetry rx/tx that ar compatible with the 3DR Radio settings panels in APM Planner. But i guess that the 3DR Radio have a special firmware..
I did plan to order 3DR radios from diydrones, but they are out of stock.
I'm planning to try out APC220 Transparent Transceiver Module. I've bought 2 of them from exp-tech.de and plan to use it on ser3. however the baud rate is limited. The UART can handle up to 57600 but over the air only 19200 is possible according to the manual (http://www.exp-tech.de/service/pdf/APC220-43V1.3E.pdf).
The question is, to which distance the 19200 work and if it is sufficient.

Generally speaking everything able to transmit serial data is compatible with the planner.
I am using xbees at 2.4 GHz, only issue is that range is somehow a little short due to the interference with the radio and with sorrounding WiFis.

I hope the rx/tx set I ordered from eBay are ok
Is this something that can be used:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wall-Through-1200m-Wireless-Data-Transmissi...
Tis module uses the Silicon Lab Si4432 cip (same as 3DR)
Can operate on different bands: 433, 470,868,915 MHZ
Output Power max 100mW
